We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, strong negotiation skills, and a keen eye for detail. About the role As the Purchasing Officer, you will work in our Procurement team and will be responsible for managing our procurement processes, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and you will support a defined region of our branches. Key Responsibilities - Manage and oversee the procurement process for plumbing products and supplies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
- Analyse market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to ensure stock availability.
- Collaborate with Branches to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
- Evaluate and resolve any issues related to product quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to make recommendations for improvements.

About you - Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or similar role in the wholesale or plumbing industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement procedures and supplier management.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and purchasing software.
- Ability to analyse data, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions.
- High attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain or a related field.
- Experience in sourcing products while being able to work with multiple stakeholders in complex organisations.
- The ability to develop strong relationships with suppliers with demonstrated procurement experience.
